VIDEO: Saving Yosemite from Environmentalists

  • There is broad agreement among ecologists and fire scientists that forest restoration—including the use of controlled burns and selective thinning—is necessary to reduce the risk of catastrophic wildfire. 

    Unfortunately, environmental activists can weaponize litigation and burdensome red tape to delay these projects—sometimes with fatal consequences for the very areas they’re trying to protect.

    NBC Bay Area spoke with PERC’s Jonathan Wood about the challenges these delays pose and the real environmental harm they can do.
