Mike Higuera works for The Nature Conservancy in Boulder, Colorado, where he protects land through conservation transactions across the state. He focuses on sourcing, structuring and closing large land conservation transaction, most of which consist of conservation easements. He grew up in Michigan and has traveled extensively throughout his life developing a strong interest in the environment. Mike earned a Juris Doctorate from University of Michigan Law School and a bachelor of art degree from Middlebury College, Vermont, specializing in philosophy and political science. He began his law career practicing transactional law at a large Denver firm prior to joining TNC. Finding solutions and bringing people together resonated with him more than the adversarial process of litigation. Mike has an enate love of the outdoors and enjoys backcountry skiing, fly fishing, and bird hunting.
