The Property and Environment Research Center (PERC) is the national leader in market solutions for conservation, with over 40 years of research and a network of respected scholars and practitioners. The Role
PERC is seeking an exceptional Senior Designer to lead our creative strategy and visual identity to help us become “the National Geographic of think tanks.”
You’ll translate innovative conservation research into powerful visual stories that captivate audiences and drive real-world impact. Guiding our creative vision across all platforms, you’ll design everything from award-worthy print publications to digital assets that make conservation concepts accessible and compelling.
Core Responsibilities
Publication Design (40%)
- Conceptualize and define the visual identity and overarching look and feel of integrated creative campaigns across print, digital, and experiential platforms
- Create visually stunning print and digital publications that audiences love
- Lead design for our research reports, twice-annual magazine, annual report, and funding proposals
- Develop visual solutions that clarify complex conservation concepts
- Manage production timelines and vendor relationships
- Collaborate with PERC’s communications and research teams to ensure visual direction accurately reflects research and messaging
Creative Projects (25%)
- Conceptualize presentations, infographics, and multimedia that showcase innovative ideas
- Direct external creative partners, including photographers, videographers, and illustrators
- Bring conservation stories to life through visual narratives
Brand Development (20%)
- Maintain and evolve brand standards that inspire the next era of conservation
- Ensure visual consistency across all touchpoints
Web Design (10%)
- Design cohesive digital assets and graphics for our website, email, and social platforms
- Partner with web developers to support our website (running on WordPress Gutenberg CMS)
- Elevate our website user experience through visual design best practices
Design Support (5%)
- Provide creative direction for events and internal materials
- Create templates that maintain design excellence across the organization
- Support high-profile presentations and proposals
Your Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field
- 7-10 years creative leadership experience
- Outstanding portfolio showcasing publication design, digital graphics, and brand development
- Adobe Creative Suite mastery
- Website design experience
- Ability to support varied visual approaches within a cohesive brand
Preferred
- Agency or in-house experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- WordPress Gutenberg CMS knowledge
- UX proficiency

Location
Full-time, exempt position based in beautiful Bozeman, Montana. Remote work possible for exceptional candidates.
