Anthony D’Avella is a Principal at Runyon, a growth and design consultancy. He is most passionate about helping entrepreneurs design and launch new products and ventures.

Before founding Runyon, Anthony was a Portfolio Director and Project Lead at IDEO New York for 4+ years.

While at IDEO, Anthony led the design of digital experiences, loyalty programs, omnichannel retail experiences, brand platforms, new ventures, and go-to-market strategies for clients that included American Express, Target, Omron Healthcare (Mira Fitness), Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Gogo, Novartis, Ford/Lincoln, and PayPal. He mentors and teaches in the Design Entrepreneur track at the School of Visual Arts MFA Design Program and the Harvard Innovation Lab, and has advised startups at Tech Stars.

Before IDEO, Anthony was the Director of Business Development and Strategy for IMG Digital Media, where he was primarily responsible for the creation, launch and operations of Sessions with Cesar, the video-based, online dog training course of Dog Whisperer Cesar Millan.

Anthony began his career at the international non-profit Operation Smile where he managed medical missions across Southeast Asia and later led development in Europe, Middle East and Africa as Executive Director of the organization’s London arm.

Anthony holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School (Second Year Honors) and a B.A. cum laude in English and Italian from Middlebury College. When he is not in New York, he can be found on a beach somewhere, usually down at the Jersey shore or Costa Rica, trying to become a better surfer.
