Brett Howell

Brett is an environmental entrepreneur who is passionate about environmental sustainability and stewardship, with a special emphasis on the marine environment. He is currently a Senior Associate with ScottMadden Inc., working with the Atlanta-based management consulting firm on project execution in the Southeast United States. He is driven to develop and implement innovative projects and programs to help organizations scale and have a positive impact on the health of the environment. Previously, he was the Chief of International Operations (contract) at OneReef, a non-profit venture focused on the conservation of coral reef ecosystems. From October 2011 – September 2013, Brett was the Walker Conservation Fellow at Georgia Aquarium where he tested the idea of applying Ecological Economics and Marine Payments for Ecosystem Services (MPES) concepts to reef restoration efforts in the Florida Keys and the Caribbean. He has an MBA in sustainability/entrepreneurship and real estate from the University of Colorado-Boulder and a B.S. in Communication (majors in environmental planning and public relations) from the University of Miami. Brett is an avid SCUBA diver, enthusiastic skier, and intrepid whitewater rafter, and he has traveled throughout the United States and abroad in search of new outdoor adventures.
