Does public land management benefit the public?

This series of reports by PERC research staff focuses on different aspects of fedeal land management. The Public Land Reports address costs, accountability, designated uses, stewardship, and possible alternative management. Is the pubic getting what it pays for? Are America's natural resources protected?  When budgets for federal land management are increasing, why is the health of  our forests, streams, and grazing lands declining? These are legitimate questions. The Public Land Reports seek the answers.
