For two weeks, 16 PEI fellows have the opportunity to interact with experts in the fields of economics,
business planning, and marketing as well as previous PEI alumni who have successfully implemented market-based
approaches for conservation. In addition to lectures and discussion groups, the curriculum includes field trips
to local businesses that have adopted innovative conservation strategies and recreational trips within the
surrounding Bozeman area. The program concludes with business plan presentations by each of the fellows.
Participants receive a stipend of $2,000, from which they will pay their own travel. Housing is provided at no charge to
fellows in the New Building dormitory on the Montana State University campus. Participants are expected to
stay in the dorm during the Enviropreneur Institute; each fellow will have a private bedroom in a suite.
A communal kitchen and dining area in the dorm provide an ideal setting for professional and personal bonding.
