PERC's Enviropreneur Camp is an intense, two-week
educational experience in Bozeman, Montana, for environmental entrepreneurs who want
to have a better understanding of how business and economic principles can be applied
to environmental problems.
For two weeks, 15 conservation leaders will have the opportunity to interact with
leading experts in the field of free market environmentalism, including those who have researched and applied markets in their environmental
work. In addition, there will be field trips, including an overnight stay at
Ted Turner's Flying D Ranch for a first-hand look at markets and property rights
in action. For more details on the program, click on the 2008 preliminary agenda.
Camp participants receive a $3,000 stipend, from which they pay their own travel.
Housing is provided at no charge to fellows in the New Building dormitory on the
Montana State University campus. Participants are expected to stay in the dorm
during the Enviropreneur Camp; each fellow will have a private bedroom in a suite.
A communal kitchen and dining area in the dorm provide an ideal setting for
professional and personal bonding among an array of diverse cultures and experiences.
Some participants may be offered a fellowship in PERC's Enviropreneur-in-Residence
program, which provides an opportunity to spend up to three months at PERC developing
a business plan to implement a market-based solution to an environmental problem.
